Tour de Frnace. Everybody knows about that, not everybody is bothered though. I personally watched just a few bits of TDF every year and moved on. I never thought I will ever watch Tour de Frnace live. It's an amazing thing that it sets off in England. Especially in Yorkshire. Definitely the nicest part of England.
As it comes to sheffield I don't even realize how it all swallowed me through. It's hard to miss it when the finish line is 3,2 miles away from your bed. It's a lifetime opportunity to see all the greatest cyclists who break records every year. It's Saturday and in Sheffield city centre it's madness! Quite overcrowded. Can't walk too quick, can't be in a rush. Peace gardens were like I never saw them before. So many people, and it's just a huge screen there. Felt a bit nice though. With a moonshine beer flavour in my mouth I enjoyed a couple of minutes among these chill-outs.
Nex day, the D-day. The time when Tour de France arrives to Sheffield. Woke up in the morning and went straight away for my spot to the finish line. Several people already took their seats. A long 4-hour wait. But don't worry, it was surrounded by many attractions. Got a cap, a tea, 3 croisants and a fruit bottle. As the time was coming, more and more people were coming. Now there were fuck louds of 'em. The riders were getting closer and closer and everyone went mad. Each visitor had a mobile phone or a camera in their hands. It was quite funny indeed. Now, the italian guy was a bit ahead of everyne so he was delighted enough. Took a photo of almost everyone. Some of them were only passing the line whilst others were prized on the stage. I felt a bit sorry for them, but they are heroes as they can complete whole Tour. The cyclists passed just few inches aawy from me, what was unforgottable feeling. If I will ever go to France, it probabbly won't be during TDF, so that was quite unique chance to see this competition. They passed really quick and I am just greatful for my spot. Others saw them for a second, but I saw them even on the stage. Moreover I saw all the emotions in their faces.
And as I said, perhaps I will never again.
